+Golay, Fils & Stahl
Pendant Watch
Swiss
"Golay Fils & Stahl was founded in 1837 in Geneva by Auguste Golay Leresche and sold at the turn of the century to Mr. Stahl, hence the name Golay Fils & Stahl. In 1961, the company was acquired by Jacques Wolfgang, already a business associate of the firm, having supplied it with precious stones since the 1930’s. . . Golay Fils & Stahl closed its retail sector definitively in 1997, focusing solely on the creation of exclusive jewellery as well as buying and selling diamonds, coloured stones, vintage, antique and signed jewels; a family tradition spanning six generations, continuing on today." -golayfils.ch
This Golay, Fils & Stahl Guilloche Enamel Pendant Watch is absolutely stunning! This timepiece is definitely one to admire, and would be a perfect accompaniment in a collection, or to present to someone special as a gift.
The case is a beautiful teal guilloche enamel with lovely golden floral scroll work around the middle where the case opens, featuring a crown representing a lovely, delicate flower from the Asteraceae family (think daisies, sunflowers, asters...) The top of the pendant features a loop for attaching to a chain, which is decorated with 4 golden leaves. The case measures 22.6 mm without the crown; with the crown, the case measures 24mm. The top chain loop to the bottom if the dial measures 25.8 mm.
The dial is a very shiny silver that features black Arabic numerals for the even numbers, and gold dots for the off numbers. It is signed Golay, Fils & Stahl in black. The gold hour hand is leaf-style, and the gold hour hand is lozenge-style. The dial is very clean and beautiful!
The manual wind movement is running excellently and keeping great time. The movement is signed Atlanta Geneve, and the caliber is marked on the movement under the balance wheel- caliber AS 970. This caliber was produced from 1935-1967. The inside of the case is marked 139.
This lovely piece deserves to be enjoyed and admired in a collection. While we do not know the exact age of this pendant watch and estimate it to be from the 1930s-1940s, we do know that it is truly a unique, beautiful piece that one does not come across often.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
It will be carefully packed.
